I. Unlicensed Cases

Robert Casale
Case No. 2002-014032

Probable cause was found that Robert Casale is not a licensed architect and contracted to provide architectural services on a commercial project. An Administrative Complaint seeking fines was filed, along with the issuance of a Notice and Order to Cease and Desist.

Dan Voelker
Gulf Coast Architectural and Building
Case No. 2003-042587

Probable Cause was found that neither Dan Voelker nor the business entity are licensed to practice architecture in the State of Florida and Mr. Voelker offered to provide architectural services under the name Gulf Coast Architectural and Building Company. The firm was previously qualified by a licensed architect who moved to California in May of 2001 and intentionally let the certificate of authorization go null and void. The former qualifier stated that the Mr. Voelker is not authorized to use the former license number of the firm even though it is still contained on his business card. An Administrative Complaint seeking fines was filed, along with the issuance of a Notice and Order to Cease and Desist.

Juan Rodriguez -Tellaheche
Case No. 2002-007631

Probable Cause was found that Juan Rodriguez-Tellaheche was previously licensed; however, his license went null and void. Mr. Rodriguez-Tellaheche offered to provide architectural services and held himself out as an architect. An Administrative Complaint seeking fines was filed, along with the issuance of a Notice and Order to Cease and Desist.

Sandra Suarez
Case No. 2003-070575

Probable Cause was found that Sandra Suarez is not licensed and signed documents as the architect of record and used the certificate of authorization number of a firm which she has no association with. An Administrative Complaint seeking fines was filed, along with the issuance of a Notice and Order to Cease and Desist.

Jim Weinberg
Jim Weinberg Design
Case Nos. 2003-064195 & 2003-064193

Probable Cause was found that Jim Weinberg is not licensed and held himself out as an interior designer on numerous documents and on his website. Further, the Subject executed a $139,500.00 contract to perform interior design services for a residence. An Administrative Complaint seeking fines was filed, along with the issuance of a Notice and Order to Cease and Desist.

Aventura Home D`ecor
Case No. 2003-084830

Probable cause was found that Aventura Home D`ecor is offering interior design services in an advertisement and does not have a certificate of authorization. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with the requirement that a representative from the firm sign an affidavit stating it will no longer offer or provide interior design services unless properly licensed and that the advertisement has been changed deleting all references to interior design. If the affidavit is not returned, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Jorge A. Balboa
Rosello Balboa Lordi Architecture, Inc.
Case No. 2003-044808

Probable cause was found that Jorge A. Balboa is not licensed and during the period from December 2, 2002 through March 4, 2003 the firm's architect, who was supposed to be exercising proper responsible supervisory control, worked full time in another architectural firm. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Mr. Balboa sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from offering or providing architectural services or words to that effect until the firm has a full time architect in responsible supervisory charge. If Mr. Balboa fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

George Rosello
Rosello Balboa Lordi Architecture, Inc.
Case No. 2003-004763

Probable Cause was found that George Rosello is not licensed and during the period from December 2, 2002 through March 4, 2003 the firm's architect, who was supposed to be exercising proper responsible supervisory control worked full time in another architectural firm A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Mr. Rosello sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from he will refrain from offering or providing architectural services or words to that effect until the firm has a full time architect in responsible supervisory charge. If Mr. Rosello fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Blue, A Design Company
Case No. 2003-008191

Probable Cause was found that Blue, A Design Company is not licensed and is offering interior design services over the internet. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that an affidavit be signed stating it will refrain from offering interior design services and that the website has been changed to delete all references to interior design. If the affidavit is not returned, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Wendy Brown
Wendesigns
Case No. 2003-083571

Probable Cause was found that Wendy Brown is not licensed and her title block offered architectural design. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Ms. Brown sign an affidavit stating she will no longer hold herself out as an architect or offer to provide architectural services and she changed her title block deleting any reference to architect or words to that effect. If Ms. Brown fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Cabot House, Inc.
Case No. 2003-077640

Probable Cause was found that Cabot House, Inc. practiced interior design without a certificate of authorization. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Freida M. Meyerson sign an affidavit stating she will refrain from offering interior design services through any business entity unless properly licensed. If Ms. Meyerson fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

David B. Frank
Precision Drafting and Architecture, Inc.
Case No. 2003-050705

Probable Cause was found that David B. Frank is not a licensed architect in the state of Florida and is doing business as Precision Drafting and Architecture, Inc. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Mr. Frank sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from offering or providing architectural services and that the business name has been changed deleting any reference to architecture or words to that effect. If Mr. Frank fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Gables Interiors, Inc.
Case No. 2003-073250

Probable Cause was found that Gables Interiors, Inc. is not licensed and is offering interior design services in an advertisement. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that an affidavit be signed stating it will refrain from offering or providing interior design services and that the advertisement has been changed deleting all referenced to interior design or words to that effect. If the affidavit is not returned, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Charles Greenwood
Greenwood Design Group, Inc.
Case No. 2003-073219

Probable Cause was found that Charles Greenwood is not licensed and is offering commercial design and uses the term architectural on his website. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Mr. Greenwood sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from offering commercial design and architectural services and that he changed his website deleting any reference to architecture or words to that effect. If Mr. Greenwood fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

T.J. McIntosh
Case No. 2003-083495

Probable Cause was found that T.J. McIntosh is not licensed and he held himself out as an architect in an interview by a newspaper. Mr. McIntosh denied this, but the newspaper reporter is certain he stated he was an architect. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Mr. McIntosh sign an affidavit stating he will no longer hold himself out as an architect in the future. If Mr. McIntosh fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Marta Cecilia Design Group, Inc.
Case Nos. 2003-081842 & 2003-081833

Probable Cause was found that Marta Cecilia Design Group, Inc. offered interior design and architectural services in an advertisement through a corporation without a certificate of authorization. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Marta Cecilia Rodriguez sign an affidavit stating she will refrain from offering or providing architecture and interior design services through a business entity that is not properly licensed and that the advertisement has been changed deleting any reference to architecture or interior design or words to that effect. If Ms. Rodriguez fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Hugo Mijares
Las Casitas Architecture & Planning, Inc.
Case No. 2003-084666

Probable Cause was found that Hugo Mijares is not licensed to practice architecture and his employer's website holds him out as a Project Architect. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Mr. Mijares sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from holding himself out as an architect and will not offer such services in the future and that the website has been changed deleting any reference to architecture or words to that effect. If Mr. Mijares fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Carrie L. Riley
Las Casitas Architecture & Planning, Inc.
Case No. 2003-077417

Probable Cause was found that Carrie Riley held herself out as an interior designer on the firm's website. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Ms. Riley sign an affidavit stating she will refrain from offering or providing interior design services and that the firm's website was changed deleting all references to interior design or words to that effect. If Ms. Riley fails to return the affidavit, an administrative complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Bertram Oce
Case No. 2003-001563

Probable Cause was found that Bertram Oce is not licensed and contracted to perform architectural drafting. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Mr. Oce sign an affidavit stating he will no longer offer or provide architectural services and that he changed his contract. If Mr. Oce fails to return the affidavit, an administrative complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Real Estate Engineering, LLC
Gregorio Batista
Case No. 2003-084879

Probable Cause was found that Gregorio Batista is a licensed professional engineer, but is offering architectural services without a certificate of authorization. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Mr. Batista sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from offering architectural services unless properly licensed. If Mr. Batista fails to return the affidavit, an administrative complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Yadhra M. Schlegel
CVC Associates, Inc.
Case No. 2003-064800

Probable Cause was found that Yadhra Schlegel is not licensed and held herself out as an interior designer on her business card. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Ms. Schlegel sign an affidavit stating she will no longer offer such services in the future and that her business card has been changed deleting any reference to interior design or words to that effect. If Ms. Schlegel fails to return the affidavit, an administrative complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Mel Steves
Architectural Design
Case No. 2003-081936

Probable Cause was found that Mel Steves is not licensed and his business card holds him out as as an architectural designer. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Mr. Steves sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from holding himself out as an architect and will no longer offer such services in the future and that he changed his business card deleting any reference to architecture or words to that effect. If Mr. Steves fails to return the affidavit, an administrative complaint seeking fines will be filed.

John C. Sykes
JCS Architectural Engineering
Case No. 2003-082843

Probable cause was found that John C. Sykes is not licensed and his business card offers services under the name "JCS Architectural Engineering". A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Mr. Sykes sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from offering or providing architectural services and that he will change his business name deleting any reference to architectural or words to that effect. If Mr. Sykes fails to return the affidavit, an administrative complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Carole Taliaferro
Case No. 2003-083483

Probable cause was found that Carole Taliaferro is not licensed and her business card offers architectural design. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Ms. Taliaferro sign an affidavit stating she will refrain from holding herself out as an architect and that she changed her business card deleting any reference to architectural or words to that effect. If Ms. Taliaferro fails to return the affidavit, an administrative complaint seeking fines will be filed.

The Design Standard, Inc.
Case No. 2003-042530

Probable Cause was found that The Design Standard, Inc. is not licensed and offered commercial design in the yellow pages. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a re quest that an affidavit be signed stating it changed its ad in the yellow pages deleting any reference to interior or commercial design services or words to that effect. If the affidavit is not returned, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Saied Zamir
Zamir, Inc.
Case No. 2003-083568

Probable Cause was found that Saied Zamir is not licensed, but an applicant and is listed as an architect in the yellow pages. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a re quest that Mr. Zamir sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from offering or providing architectural services and that he changed his yellow page advertisement. If Mr. Zamir fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking discipline will be filed.

II. Licensed Cases

Brent Cornwell
Case No. 2003-076953

Probable Cause was found that Brent Cornwell, a licensed architect, failed to comply with the terms of a final order and pay a fine of $1,250.00. Mr. Cornwell's license is now null and void. An Administrative Complaint seeking discipline was filed.

Lawrence Dixon, Case No. 2002-007454
Dixon Design Associates, Case No. 2003-087092

Probable Cause was found that Lawrence Dixon, a licensed architect signed and sealed a commercial project without meeting with the client. The contract for the architectural services on the commercial project was entered into by an unlicensed draftsman. Mr. Dixon was further offering architectural services through a business entity that does not have a certificate of authorization. An Administrative Complaint seeking discipline was filed.

Lawrence A. Lordi
Rosello Balboa Lordi, Architecture, Inc.
Case NO. 2003-044794

Probable Cause was found that Lawrence A. Lordi, a licensed architect, during the period from December 12, 2002 through March 4, 2003 worked full time in an architectural firm while also being the qualifier and architect in responsible supervisory control of Rosello Balboa Lordi, Architecture, Inc. An Administrative Complaint seeking discipline was filed.

William Niblock
Las Casitas Architecture & Planning, Inc.
Case No. 2003-077427

Probable cause was found that William Niblock was the qualifier and architect in responsible supervisory control of Las Casitas Architecture & Planning, Inc. while also working full time in another firm. The firm's website held out many of its employees as architects who were not licensed. Mr. Niblock also held himself out as belonging to AIA when he was not a member. An Administrative Complaint seeking discipline was filed.

Aurelio Alberto Rey
Case No. 2003-077351

Probable cause was found that Aurelio Rey, a licensed architect, forged the initials of a building official on two sets of plans. An Administrative Complaint seeking discipline was filed.

Thomas Vance Smith
Case No. 2003-042120

Probable cause was found that Thomas Smith, a licensed architect, signed and sealed plans for a commercial project that were prepared by an unlicensed draftsman in Live Oak, Florida. Mr. Smith lives in Oakland, California. The title block did not contain the date or Mr. Smith's license number.

Kimberly Joy Meerbeek
Case No. 2003-077647

Probable cause was found that Kimberly Meerbeek's employer is offering interior design services without a certificate of authorization. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was filed along with the request that Ms. Meerbeek sign an affidavit stating she changed the advertisement deleting any reference to interior design or words to that effect regarding the business entity. If Ms. Meerbeek fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
