The Florida Board of
Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a
settlement stipulation imposing a fine of
$5,000.00 plus costs against James D. Allen and
J.D. Allen & Associates. Mr. Allen is not
licensed to practice architecture and contracted to provide architectural
services for a commercial project. Further, Mr. Allen is offering such services
through a corporation without a certificate of authorization.
Walter Baker
Case No. 2008-010747
The Florida Board of
Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a
settlement stipulation imposing costs against
Walter Baker. Mr. Baker, a licensed architect,
signed and sealed plans for a commercial project that an unlicensed individual
had the contract with the owner.
Harold F. Bergsten
Case No. 2008-040441
The Florida Board of
Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a
settlement stipulation imposing a fine of
$1,500.00 plus costs against Harold F. Bergsten.
Mr. Bergsten, a licensed Engineer, is not licensed to practice
architecture and signed and sealed plans for a commercial project without the
involvement of an architect. The architectural drawings were prepared by an
unlicensed draftsman that had the contract with the owner.
Evan J. Cadwell
Case No. 2007-029871
The Florida Board of
Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order imposing a fine
of $6,000.00 plus costs against Evan J. Cadwell.
Mr. Cadwell is not licensed to practice architecture and uses the title
architectural designer in his title block on a set of drawings. Further, Mr.
Cadwell admits in his response to the investigation that he performs design
services for nonresidential properties.
Terry Kirkland Cook
Case No. 2007-068823
The Florida Board of
Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order relinquishing
Terry Kirkland Cook’s Florida license to practice interior design.
Ms. Cook, a licensed interior designer, sold her business to an
unlicensed third party and allowed the new owners to use her license number to
offer interior design services.

Case No. 2008-027155
The Florida Board of
Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a
settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $2,000.00 plus costs against
Designhouse of Jacksonville and Danielle Hazlett.
Ms. Hazlett is not licensed to practice interior design and contracted to
provide interior design services on a commercial project. Further, Ms. Hazlett
is holding herself out as an interior designer throughout the contract and is
offering such services through a business entity without a certificate of
authorization.

The Florida Board of
Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a
settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $2,250.00 plus costs against Kemble
Interiors, Inc. and Mimi M. McMakin. Ms.
McMakin is a licensed interior designer; however her license went null and void.
Further, Ms. McMakin continued practicing interior design and was offering such
services through a business entity without a certificate of authorization.

of $10,000.00 plus costs against Roland F.

Mr. Patterson is not licensed to practice architecture and entered into a
contract to perform architectural services for a commercial project. Further,
Mr. Patterson prepared plans for the project.

Mr. Gable is not licensed to practice architecture and entered into a contract
to provide design services for a commercial project. Further, Mr. Gable is
offering such services through a business entity without a certificate of
authorization.

Popescu and Architectural Group Miami, Inc. Mr.
Popescu, was previously a licensed interior designer,; however his license is in
a suspended status for failing to take the building code course. Mr. Popescu’s
web site is offering architectural and interior design services. Further, Mr.
Popescu is offering interior design services from numerous locations and without
a licensed professional in responsible supervisory control.

settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $500.00 plus costs against Ron Renner.
Mr. Renner is not licensed to practice interior design and is holding himself
out as an interior designer on his web site. Mr. Renner was previously licensed;
however his license went null and void on March 1, 2005.

settlement stipulation imposing costs against
USONA Design and Thomas A. Knoebel. Mr. Knoebel
is not licensed to practice architecture and entered into a verbal contract with
owner to obtain architectural services on his behalf for a commercial project.
Carmen Valdivia

The Florida Board of
Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a
settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $500.00 plus costs, completing 16
hours of continuing education and providing records for continuing education for
2005-2007 against Carmen Valdivia’s license.
Ms. Valdivia is a licensed architect and affirmed at renewal that she had
completed the required continuing education hours. Ms. Valdivia was chosen for
an audit of the continuing education required and has only provided 11.5 hours
during the audit period.

licensed to practice architecture and contracted to provide architectural
services for a residence and is using the title architect. Ms. Vouziers is doing
business as Architecture & Engineering Works, LLC. Further, Ms. Vouziers is
offering these services through a business entity without a certificate of
authorization.
David K. Weinschreider

The Florida Board of
Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order imposing a fine
of $250.00 plus costs and completing 6.5 hours of continuing education against
David K. Weinschreider’s license. Mr. Weinschreider is a licensed architect and
affirmed at renewal that he had completed the required continuing education
hours. Mr. Weinschreider was chosen for an audit of the continuing education
required and has only provided 18.5 hours during the audit period.
