The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $2,500.00 plus costs against Accurate Dream Home and Neil Murphy. Mr. Murphy is not licensed to practice architecture and contracted to provide architectural services for a residential project.

Mr. Murphy’s title block offers architectural drafting and his letterhead offers commercial design. Further, Mr. Murphy is offering these services through a corporation without a certificate of authorization.

 

Oscar Benitez

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $10,000.00 plus costs and four years probation against Oscar Benitez’s license. Mr. Benitez is licensed to practice architecture , however, Mr. Benitez signed and sealed drawings for a residential project that were prepared by an unlicensed draftsman without ever meeting with the client. The unlicensed draftsman had a contract that specifically offered architectural services. The plan’s were reviewed by the Board’s expert Jerry Hicks who found they lacked sufficient detail and constituted negligence in the practice of architecture.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a $1,500.00 fine plus costs against Teena M. Benton. Ms. Benton is not licensed to practice architecture and provided architectural services for a church and a commercial building.

 

Huston F. Boothe, Jr.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order placing Huston F. Boothe Jr’s license on suspension until he comes into compliance for failing to satisfy the terms of a Final Order that was entered on April 3, 2007.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order imposing a fine of $5,000.00 plus costs against Kirbis Borca and Perfection Interior Design. Mr. Borca is not licensed to practice interior design and is doing business as Perfection Interior Design.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $2,500.00 plus costs against Mary P. Collins. Ms. Collins is not licensed to practice interior design and contracted to provide interior design services on a commercial project. Further, Ms. Collins is offering such services through a business entity without a certificate of authorization.

Mr. Crum is not licensed to practice architecture and prepare a proposal to provide signed and sealed drawings for a commercial project. Further, Mr. Crum is offering these services through a business entity without a certificate of authorization.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order imposing a fine of $1,000.00 plus costs against DeHaas Consulting and Design and David DeHaas. Mr. DeHaas is not licensed to practice architecture altered signed and sealed plans without the permission of the licensed architect.

 

Hans Dierks

Case No. 2007-060756

 

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $1,000.00 plus costs against Hans Dierks. Mr. Dierks is not licensed to practice architecture and signed and sealed plans for a commercial project without the involvement of an architect. The Architectural drawings were prepared by an unlicensed draftsman that Mr. Dierks originally stated had the contract with the owner but then changed his response to state that his contract was with either the owner or the contractor.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order imposing a fine of $5,000.00 plus costs and revoking Mr. Evans’s license until he comes into compliance for failing to satisfy the terms of a Final Order that was entered on December 11, 2006.

Vikki Kemp

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order imposing a fine of $10,000.00 plus costs against Vikki Kemp. Ms. Kemp is not licensed to practice interior design and was previously disciplined for using the title interior designer. Ms. Kemp continues to use the title in an advertisement. Further, Ms. Kemp is offering such services through a business entity without a certificate of authorization.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $3,750.00 plus costs against Robert B. Lamar. Mr. Lamar is not licensed to practice architecture and prepared architectural and interior design drawings for two commercial projects.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $2,000.00 plus costs against Hugo De Ley. Mr. Ley is licensed to practice architecture and was qualifier and sole interior designer in responsible supervisory control of an interior design firm located in Florida while he was working full time as a teacher in Mississippi.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order revoking Ms. Martin-Fernandez’s license until she comes into compliance for failing to satisfy the terms of a Final Order that was entered on March 23, 2007.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $2,000.00 plus costs against Stephen Mayrosh. The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order imposing a fine of $1,000.00 plus costs against Mark Risley. Mr. Risley is not licensed to practice architecture and offered to provide commercial design services for a restaurant. Further, Mr. Risley is offering these services througha corporation without a certificate of authorization.

Further, Ms. Burgos is offering these services through a corporation without a certificate of authorization.

The architectural drawings were prepared by an unlicensed draftsman that entered into a contract with the client.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order placing Geraldine A. Visconti’s license on suspension until she comes into compliance for failing to satisfy the terms of a Final Order that was entered on April 3, 2007.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation placing a reprimand and costs against William Edwin Wallace’s license. Further, Mr. Wallace must complete five additional hours of continuing education in addition to the required twenty hours. Mr. Wallace is licensed to practice architecture and signed and sealed drawings prepared by an unlicensed individual for a commercial project. The contract entered into by the unlicensed individual was for architectural services. Further, Mr. Wallace signed and sealed these drawings without ever meeting with the client.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order imposing a fine of $1,500.00 plus costs against WDP Drafting & Design, LLC and Willie D. Peterson. Mr. Peterson is not licensed to practice architecture and prepared a proposal to provide architectural services for a residence.
