The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $2,500.00 plus costs against Accurate Dream Home and Neil Murphy. Mr. Murphy is not licensed to practice architecture and contracted to provide architectural services for a residential project.
Mr. Murphy’s title block offers architectural drafting and his letterhead offers commercial design. Further, Mr. Murphy is offering these services through a corporation without a certificate of authorization.

Mr. Benitez is licensed to practice architecture , however, Mr. Benitez signed and sealed drawings for a residential project that were prepared by an unlicensed draftsman without ever meeting with the client. The unlicensed draftsman had a contract that specifically offered architectural services. The plan’s were reviewed by the Board’s expert Jerry Hicks who found they lacked sufficient detail and constituted negligence in the practice of architecture.
