Abney’s license to practice architecture. Mr. Abney’s son used his architectural seal to seal drawings for a residential property.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $5,000.00 plus costs against John Adkerson Abney and Perry Abney & Associates. Mr. Abney is not licensed however, his father is a licensed architect and John Abney used his father’s seal and sealed revisions to a residential project. Further, Mr. Abney was offering these services through a business entity without a certificate of authorization.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of 3,000.00 plus costs against Thomas Adamo. Mr. Adamo is not licensed and his web site indicates he preformed design services for commercial projects.

Leahy. Mr. Leahy is not licensed and contracted to provide interior design services on a commercial project. Further, Mr. Leahy was offering these services through a business entity without a certificate of authorization.

Mr. Berenbaum signed and sealed drawings prepared by a Professional Engineer without ever meeting with the client. Further, Mr. Berenbaum was operating through a corporation without a certificate of authorization.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $5,000.00 plus costs against Blue Sky Environmental, Inc. and Barbara L. Murtagh-Nash. Ms. Murtagh-Nash is not licensed and was previously issued a Notice and Order to Cease and Desist and signed an affidavit on June 21, 2006, agreeing to refrain from offering interior design services. Ms. Murtagh-Nash’s advertisement, web site, and letterhead continue to offer interior design services. Also Ms. Murtagh-Nash’s web site offers architectural services. Further, Ms. Murtagh-Nash was offering these services through a business entity without a certificate of authorization.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $1,250.00 plus costs against Abner Cordero and Professional Home Design, Inc. Mr. Cordero is not licensed and contracted to provide signed and sealed drawings for a residential project. Also, Mr. Cordero held himself out as an architect to the client. Further, Mr. Cordero was offering these services through a corporation without a certificate of authorization.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a stipulation placing a reprimand, two years probation, seven hours of continuing education and imposing a fine of $3,500.00 plus costs against Scott Gershon’s license to practice architecture. Mr. Gershon entered into contract for a residential project in which he knew was required to be permitted but intentionally circumvented this requirement. Further, Mr. Gershon also assisted in the employment of a contractor that was not properly lincesed.

Mr. Pharr is not licensed and contracted to provide interior design services on a commercial project. Further, Mr. Pharr was offering these services through a business entity without a certificate of authorization.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a stipulation placing a reprimand and imposing a fine of $4,000.00 plus costs against Robert P. Juengert’s license to practice architecture. Mr. Juengert signed and sealed drawings that were prepared by a general contractor for a patio addition for a residence without ever meeting with the client. Further, Mr. Juengert’s license was in a suspended status when he signed and sealed the plans.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $500.00 plus costs against KMH Design, Inc. and Kathleen Hines Franza. Ms. Fraza is not licensed and completed a survey for the Jacksonville Business Journal stating it has one licensed interior designer and offers all aspects of interior design. Further, Ms. Franza was offering these services through a business entity without a certificate of authorization.

Paredes’ license to practice architecture. Associated Space Design, Inc.’s web site offers architectural services from its Jacksonville, Tampa, and Miami offices. Mr. Paredes works in Atlanta, Georgia and is attempting to provide responsible supervisory control for an architectural office in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Paredes travels to the Jacksonville office 2 or 3 times a week. The Tampa office does not have an architect in that office full time as well. The Miami office does employ a full-time architect. Further, Mr. Paredes is offering architectural services as ASD without a certificate of authorization.

Perry’s license to practice architecture. Mr. Perry partnered with an unlicensed individual on a residential project where the unlicensed individual held himself out as an architect. Further, Mr. Perry was offering these services through a business entity without a certificate of authorization.

Duran. Ms. Duran is not licensed and offered to provide architectural services for a residential project. Further, Ms. Duran is offering these services through a corporation without a certificate of authorization. This a second offense.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $500.00 plus costs and complete the required course against Abram Sustaita’s license. Mr. Sustaita’s license will be placed on suspension until he comes into compliance. Mr. Sustaita is a licensed architect and failed to satisfy the terms of a Final Order that was entered on July 25, 2007.

The Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design agreed to enter a final order approving a settlement stipulation imposing a fine of $7,500.00 plus costs against Ronald G. Trebbi. Mr. Trebbi was previously licensed; however, his license went delinquent on March 1, 2001, and then into a null and void status on March 1, 2003. Mr. Trebbi entered into a contract for architectural services on April 16, 2006. This is very close in time to a previous disciplinary case regarding the same types of allegations. Mr. Trebbi has entered into a Stipulation in that case and paid the fine. In the previous case the Subject was issued a minor fine because he took the position that he did not know his license was not active. In the present case, there appears to be sufficient evidence Mr. Trebbi knew his license was not active when he signed and sealed the plans.
