I. Unlicensed Cases
Oscar S. Benitez
O. Benitez & Associates, Inc.
Case Nos. 2003-047119 & 2003-064019
Probable Cause was found that Oscar Benitez engaged in the practice of architecture prior to becoming licensed and sealed a set of plans that contained the corporation in the title block and the corporation does not have a certificate of authorization. An Administrative Complaint seeking fines was filed.
Ernest Hedric Clay
E. Hedric Clay & Associates
Case Nos. 2003-072183 & 2003-072187
Probable cause was found to file an administrative complaint seeking fines up to $15,000.00 against unlicensed designer Ernest Hedric Clay of E. Hedric Clay & Associates, Bradenton, Florida. Mr. Clay was found to have illegally held himself out as an architect to the Bradenton Beach Planning & Zoning Board. The evidence that showed Mr. Clay stated in a letter to the Board that he was a registered and licensed practicing architect even though he does not hold a Florida license.
Theresa D'Amico
Teri D'Amico Interiors
Case No. 2003-067773
Probable Cause was found that Theresa D'Amico offered interior design services using her null and void license number. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with the filing of an Administrative Complaint seeking fines.
Felix Gurruchaga
Gurru Design Group
Case No. 2002-007486
Probable Cause was found that Felix Gurruchaga contracted for perform architectural services on a residence and is unlicensed. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with the request that that Mr. Gurruchaga sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from offering or providing architectural services, and that he will delete any reference to architecture or words to that effect in his contract. If Mr. Gurruchaga fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
Anthony Lauro
Case No. 2002-012528
Probable Cause was found that Anthony Lauro was offering architectural and interior design services on his letterhead. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with the request that Mr. Lauro sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from offering architectural or interior design service and he will changes his letterhead deleting any reference to architecture or interior design or words to that effect. If Mr. Lauro fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
Pablo A. Monterrey
Case No. 2002-010817
Probable Cause was found that Pablo Monterrey contracted to perform architectural services and is not licensed. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with the request that Mr. Monterrey sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from offering or providing architectural services in the future. If Mr. Monterrey fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
Jeffrey C. Nichols
Nichols/Page Design Associates
Case No. 2003-066511
Probable Cause was found that Jeffrey Nichols illegally offered interior design services without a valid license. This Board also recommended that the license to operate Nichols/Page Design Associates be revoked based on Mr. Nichols and Mr. Page renewing the license while neither of these individuals were licensed.
After reviewing the evidence that showed Mr. Nichols offered architectural and interior design services in a letter to the Broward County Purchasing Division, the Board found probable cause to file an Administrative Complaint seeking fines up to $20,000.00, along with the issuance of a Notice and Order to Cease and Desist.
Stephen Mitchell Page
Nichols/Page Design Associates
Case No. 2003-066419
Probable cause was found that Stephen Page was found to have illegally offered architectural services without a valid license and he used an invalid license number while attempting to procure work. The project at issue was the Broward County ADA Transition Plan Update.
This Board also recommended that the license to operate Nichols/Page Design Associates be revoked based on Mr. Nichols and Mr. Page renewing the license while neither of these individuals were licensed.
After reviewing the evidence that showed Mr. Page offered architectural and interior design services in a letter to the Broward County Purchasing Division, the Board found probable cause to file an Administrative Complaint seeking fines up to $15,000.00, along with the issuance of a Notice and Order to Cease and Desist.
Suzanne Sultana
Sultana and Associates, Inc.
Case No. 2003-065294
Probable Cause was found that Suzanne Sultana offered interior design services in an advertisement. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Ms. Sultana sign an affidavit stating she will refrain from offering interior design services and will change her advertisement to delete all references to interior design. If Ms. Sultana fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
Richard Lee Wu
Case No. 2003-042595
Probable Cause was found that Richard Wu offered architectural services through a business entity that is not licensed. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued, along with a request that Mr. Wu sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from offering architectural service and that he changed his title block. If Mr. Wu fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
