Probable Cause was found that Johanna Afanador of Miami, Florida is not licensed to practice interior design in the State of Florida and held herself out as an interior designer in a letter to a client. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued and an Administrative Complaint seeking fines was filed.
AMD Group of South Florida, Inc.
Gina Guerrier
Case No. 2005-048846
Probable Cause was found that AMD Group of South Florida, Inc. of Plantation, Florida is not a licensed architectural firm in the State of Florida and is listed under the Architect heading in the yellow pages and is also offering commercial services. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued along with the requirement that Ms. Guerrier sign an affidavit stating the firm will refrain from offering architectural or commercial services and will no longer advertise in the yellow pages under the Architect section. If Ms. Guerrier fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Probable Cause was found that Carrie’s Interiors of Punta Gorda, Florida is not a licensed interior design firm in the State of Florida. The firm is offering interior design services in an advertisement that appeared in the Charlotte County Sun Newspaper. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued and an Administrative Complaint seeking fines was filed.

Probable Cause was found that Patty Castillo of Pembroke Pines, Florida is not licensed to practice interior design in the State of Florida and is offering “Professional Interior Design Service” in an advertising flyer. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued and an Administrative Complaint seeking fines was filed.

Probable Case was found that Constance David Lee Cogswell of Fort Lauderdale, Florida is not licensed to practice interior design in the State of Florida and is offering interior design services on his business card. Probable Case was found that Foxworthy’s Interiors of Bonita Springs, Florida is not licensed to practice interior design in the State of Florida and is listed in the yellow pages as Foxworthy’s Interior Design and also sent a solicitation letter offering interior design services. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued along with the requirement that Mr. Toliver sign an affidavit stating he will refrain from offering interior design services and will change the advertisement in the yellow pages along with the solicitation letter to remove any reference to interior design or words to that effect. If Mr. Toliver fails to return the affidavit, an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.

Probable Cause was found that Julio Sanchea of Miami, Florida, a licensed architect in the State of Florida, violated Chapter 481, Florida Statutes. Mr. Sanchez signed and sealed drawings that were below minimum acceptable standards. Mr. Sanchez claims the plans were never intended to be final construction documents and were intended for zoning review. The plans were reviewed by expert, Jerry Hicks, who determined that a violation occurred. An Administrative Complaint seeking discipline was filed.
