Accurate Dream Home, Inc.
Neil Murphy
Case No. 2007-068811
Probable cause was found that Accurate Dream Home of Seminole, Florida, is not
licensed to practice architecture in Florida and contracted to provide
architectural services for a residential project. Further, Mr. Murphy’s title
block offers architectural drafting and his letterhead offers commercial design.
Mr. Murphy is offering these services through a corporation without a
certificate of authorization. An Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be
filed and a Notice and Order to Cease and Desist will be issued.
American Hotel Registry, Co.
James F. Leahy
Case No. 2007-064344
Probable cause was found that American Hotel Registry Co. of Vernon Hills,
Florida, is not licensed to practice interior design in Florida and the company
contracted to provide interior design services on a commercial project. Mr.
Leahy is offering such services through a business entity without a certificate
of authorization. An Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed and a
Notice and Order to Cease and Desist will be issued.
Reuben Benjamin
Benjamin Design & Associates
Case No. 2007-064906
Probable cause was found that Reuben Benjamin of Oakland Park, Florida, is not
licensed to practice architecture in Florida and is offering architectural
services on his business card. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist will be
issued requiring Mr. Benjamin to sign an affidavit stating he will change his
business card and no longer offer architectural services.
Bridget J. Hankins & Associates, Inc.
Bridget J. Hankins
Case No. 2007-067403
Probable cause was found that Bridget J. Hankins & Associates, Inc. of
Littleton, CO, is not licensed to practice interior design in Florida and she
contracted to provide interior design services on a commercial project. Further,
Ms. Hankins is holding herself out as an interior designer throughout the
contract and is offering such services through a business entity without a
certificate of authorization. An Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be
filed and a Notice and Order to Cease and Desist will be issued.
George Cargill
Case No. 2007-043564
Probable cause was found that George Cargill of Miami, Florida, is not licensed
to practice architectural services in Florida and he contracted to provide
architectural services for a residential project. Further, Mr. Cargill business
card offers architectural services. A Notice to Cease and Desist offering
architectural services was issued along with the requirement that Mr. Cargill
sign an affidavit stating he has changed his business card to delete all
references to architecture. If Mr. Cargill fails to return the affidavit, an
Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
Design Schemes of Florida, LLC.
Sharon Lawrence
Case No. 2007-050315
Probable cause was found that Design Schemes of Florida, LLC. of Fort Myers,
Florida, is not licensed to practice interior design in Florida and contracted
to provide interior design services on a commercial project. Further, Ms.
Lawrence is offering commercial interior design on its web site and is offering
such services through a business entity without a certificate of authorization.
An Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed and a Notice and Order
to Cease and Desist will be issued.
Hans Dierks
Case No. 2007-060756
Probable cause was found that Hans J. Dierks of Bradenton, Florida, is a
licensed Professional Engineer but not licensed to practice architecture in
Florida. Mr. Dierks signed and sealed plans for a commercial project without the
involvement of an architect. The architectural drawings were prepared by an
unlicensed draftsman that contracted directly with the owner. An Administrative
Complaint seeking discipline will be filed.
JRS Design, Inc.
Joseph R. Barna
Case No. 2007-062794
Probable cause was found that JRS Design, Inc. of Hollywood, Florida, is not
licensed to practice architecture and interior design in Florida and entered
into numerous contracts to provide both architectural and interior design
services. Further, Mr. Barna is offering these services through a corporation
without a certificate of authorization. An Administrative Complaint seeking
fines will be filed and a Notice and Order to Cease and Desist will be issued.
Morrissey Design Studio,
Michael A. Morrissey
Case No. 2007-049984
Probable cause was found that Morrissey Design Studio, Inc. of Orlando, Florida,
is not licensed to practice architecture in Florida. Mr. Morrissey prepared
drawings for a residence. The cover sheet of the drawings states “this is an
architectural site plan only”. Mr. Morrissey is offering these services through
a corporation without a certificate of authorization.
A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist will be issued and an Administrative
Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
New Age Design, LTD
Anthony Mella
Case No. 2007-056584
Probable cause was found that New Age Design, Ltd. of St. Petersburg, Florida is
not licensed to practice architecture in Florida. Mr. Mella contracted to
provide architectural services for a commercial project. Mr. Mella is offering
these services through a business entity without a certificate of authorization.
A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist will be issued and an Administrative
Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
Tricia H. Otto
Tricia Lee Designs
Case No. 2007-067217
Probable cause was found that Tricia H. Otto of Fort Myers, Florida is not
licensed to practice interior design in Florida. According to Ms. Otto’s web
site, she provided design services for a restaurant. The Subject is offering
such services through a business entity without a certificate of authorization.
A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist will be issued and an Administrative
Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
Dan Owens
Case No. 2007-048888
Probable cause was found that Dan Owens of Miami, Florida is not licensed to
practice interior design in Florida. Mr. Owens’ business card offers both
interior design and architectural services. Mr. Owens applied for an interior
design license but his application was denied. Mr. Owens has failed to respond
to the complaint. Therefore, a Notice and Order to Cease and Desist will be
issued and an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
Roland Patterson
George E. Patterson & Associates, Inc.
Case No. 2007-064933
Probable cause was found that Roland Patterson of Jacksonville, Florida is not
licensed to practice architecture in Florida. Mr. Patterson entered into a
contract to perform architectural services for a commercial project and he also
prepared plans for the project. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist will be
issued and an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
Perfection Interior Design, Inc.
Kibris Borea
Case No. 2007-065788
Probable cause was found that Perfection Interior Design, Inc. of Tampa, Florida
is not licensed to practice interior design in Florida. Ms. Borea is doing
business as Perfection Interior Design, Inc. Ms. Borea has failed to respond to
the complaint. Therefore, a Notice and Order to Cease and Desist will be issued
and an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
Richard Roeser
Building Design Services, Inc.
Case No. 200-022054
Probable cause was found that Richard Roeser of Hollywood, Florida is not
licensed to practice architecture in Florida and he contracted to provide
architectural services for a residential project. A Notice and Order to Cease
and Desist will be issued and an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be
fines.
Ben S. Schwartz
SBS Services, LLC
Case No. 2007-048503
Probable cause was found that Ben S. Schwartz of Cocoa, Florida is not licensed
to practice architecture in Florida. Mr. Schwartz is a licensed Professional
Engineer. Mr. Schwartz signed and sealed plans for a commercial project without
the involvement of an architect. The architectural drawings were prepared by an
unlicensed draftsman that entered into a contract with the client.
John P. Shackelford, Jr.
Case No. 2007-015569
Probable cause was found that John P. Shackelford, Jr. of Sea Island, Georgia is
not licensed to practice architecture in Florida; however, Mr. Shackelford is a
licensed architect in Georgia. Mr. Shackelford’s title block appears on a set of
residential drawings that were submitted to the Jacksonville Building
Department. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist offering architectural
services was issued along with the requirement that Mr. Shackelford sign an
affidavit stating he will not offer such services in Florida in the future.
Steven Bradford Turner
Bradford & Company Design Group, Inc.
Case No. 2007-063181
Probable cause was found that Steven Bradford Turner of Cape Coral, Florida is
not licensed to practice architecture in Florida. Mr. Turner is offering
architectural services on his web site. The Subject is offering these services
through a corporation without a certificate of authorization. This is a second
offense. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued and an Administrative
Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
Urban Ideology, Inc.
Allie Elhage
Case No. 2007-062088
Probable cause was found that Urban Ideology of Sarasota, Florida is not
licensed to practice architecture in Florida. Ms. Elhage provided architectural
for a commercial project and is offering these services through a corporation
without a certificate of authorization. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist
was issued and an Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
WDP Drafting & Design, LLC
Willie D. Peterson
Case No. 2007-047005
Probable cause was found that WDP Drafting & Design, LLC of Sarasota, Florida is
not licensed to practice architecture in Florida. Mr. Peterson contracted to
provide architectural services for a residential project. Mr. Peterson is
offering these services through a business entity without a certificate of
authorization. A Notice and Order to Cease and Desist was issued and an
Administrative Complaint seeking fines will be filed.
II. Licensed Cases
Theodore E. Davis
Architect and Associates, P.A.
Case No. 2006-006474
Probable cause was found that Theodore E. Davis of Jupiter, Florida, a licensed
architect, signed and sealed drawings for a dental office that were prepared
outside of his office. Mr. Davis has been unable to provide proper documentation
that he exercised proper responsible supervisory control over drawings prepared
outside of the architect’s office. An Administrative Complaint seeking
discipline will be filed.
Marshall I. Levy
Case No. 2007-046077
Probable cause was found that Marshall I. Levy of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a
licensed architect in Florida, allegedly misrepresented on his application the
fact that he had been practicing architecture through a corporation prior to
receiving his certificate of authorization. An Administrative Complaint seeking
discipline will be filed.
Hugo De Ley
J Design Group, Inc.

Case No. 2007-049107
Probable cause was found that Hugo De Ley of Miami, Florida, a licensed
architect, was the qualifier in responsible supervisory control of an interior
design firm located in Florida while he was working full time as a teacher in
Mississippi. An Administrative Complaint seeking discipline will be filed.
Mariela Mesa
Case No. 2007-056637
Probable cause was found that Mariela Mesa of Miami, Florida, a licensed
interior designer, failed to satisfy the terms of a Final Order that was entered
on March 23, 2007. An Administrative Complaint seeking discipline will be filed.
Norman D. Palmer
Case No. 2007-042296
Probable cause was found that Norman D. Palmer of Newberry, Florida, a licensed
architect, signed and sealed drawings that an unlicensed individual prepared
while his license was in a delinquent status. Mr. Palmer did not provide the
required documentation that he exercised proper responsible supervisory control
for plans prepared outside of his office. An Administrative Complaint seeking
discipline will be filed.
James Michael Rinehart
Case No. 2007-007995
Probable cause was found that James Michael Rinehart of Tampa, Florida, a
licensed interior designer, failed to produce permit and construction documents
after receiving $15,000.00. An Administrative Complaint seeking discipline will
be filed.
William Edwin Wallace
Case No. 2007-065241
Probable cause was found that William Edwin Wallace of Jacksonville, Florida, a
licensed architect, signed and sealed drawings that an unlicensed individual
prepared for a commercial project without ever meeting with the client. The
contract entered into by the unlicensed individual offers architectural
services. An Administrative Complaint seeking discipline will be filed.
